This program can also calculate your ETA based on traffic conditions and automatically offer you a new route option when there's a quicker way. The unit comes with a built-in traffic receiver for updates - the first three months are free, and then it's $40 per year. Like most units, you can also program the type of route you prefer, from fastest time, shortest distance, avoiding tolls, or utilizing freeways, and it also offers a multidestination option to plan out stops along the way. A map is available in a bird's-eye view so you can see your surroundings in 2D or 3D. While the turn-by-turn voice instructions from the Magellan were somewhat easy to follow, the prompts were too delayed and we actually missed one of the turns during our test.
